Get the Best Sound from Your Music

A great ride starts with a great source. Soundz recommends Apple Music Lossless. Connect your phone the right way for your radio, then follow the settings for your music app.

1. Choose your radio connection

Use the recommendation for the radio installed on your bike.

Your app’s Lossless badge describes the music source. The radio and connection also determine playback quality; selecting Lossless does not make every connection lossless.

2. Set up your music app

Choose an app for settings and a video walkthrough. Use the radio connection above with any of these apps. Menu names may vary by phone or app version.

iPhone or Android phone with the latest Apple Music app
Active Apple Music subscription
The recommended connection for your radio, listed above

Setup Steps

iPhone: Open Settings → Apps → Music → Audio Quality. On older iOS versions, Music may appear directly in Settings.
Android: In Apple Music, open the More menu → Settings → Audio Quality.
Toggle Lossless Audio ON.
Choose Lossless for streaming and downloads (up to 24-bit/48 kHz). Download over Wi-Fi before a ride to reduce cellular data use.
Soundz recommends Sound Check ON where available.
Turn Dolby Atmos OFF for the Soundz stereo setup.
Confirm your tracks show Lossless under the title. Previously downloaded tracks need to be removed and downloaded again after you change download quality.

Amazon Music

Ultra HD

What You’ll Need

Amazon Music app (iOS or Android)
An Amazon Music plan that includes HD/Ultra HD (the Unlimited Single Device plan does not)
The recommended connection for your radio, listed above

Setup Steps

Open the Amazon Music app and sign in.
Go to Settings → Streaming Audio Quality.
Set Wi‑Fi and Mobile Data Streaming to HD/Ultra HD.
Scroll to Download Audio Quality and select Best Available (HD/Ultra HD).
Under Playback, toggle Loudness Normalization ON.
For the Soundz stereo setup, turn off spatial audio options such as Dolby Atmos / 360 Reality Audio where available.
Play an Ultra HD song — look for the “Ultra HD” tag under the title.

Spotify

Lossless

What You’ll Need

Spotify Premium subscription
iOS or Android app (latest version)
The recommended connection for your radio, listed above

Setup Steps

Open the Spotify app.
Tap your profile picture → Settings and privacy → Media quality (called Audio Quality in some app versions).
Select Lossless for streaming and downloads. Download over Wi-Fi before a ride when possible.
Under Playback, enable volume normalization and select Quiet, following Soundz’s setup recommendation.
Set Crossfade to Off for clean transitions.
Play any Lossless-enabled track — it should show a Lossless badge during playback.
Use the recommended connection for your radio above: USB, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, or Bluetooth for the BEHDIN98.

3. Get ready to ride

Download before you go

Save your playlists over Wi-Fi in your chosen quality and confirm they play offline. Lossless files use more storage and data; downloads help when coverage drops.

Start with a good source

For evaluating your system, Soundz recommends a high-quality music source instead of SiriusXM, FM/AM, Pandora, or low-quality MP3 files. Recording quality still matters.
